An investigation into the DPJ is needed, demands the lawyer of the mother of the martyred little girl from Granby

Disappointed by the organization's practices, the lawyer for the mother of the martyred little girl from Granby, Valérie Assouline, is calling for an investigation into the system of the Direction de la protection de la jeunesse (DPJ).

"I want an investigation to be carried out, I don't want a simple commission that is there to make a scene," she told QUB radio on Tuesday.

Me Assouline raised in an interview with "Politically Incorrect" that, according to her, several stakeholders often choose their side from the beginning of the process.

"I have seen mothers who call the DPJ because they are victims of domestic violence and it turns against them because we are talking about parental alienation," the lawyer denounced.

Moreover, she says, some decisions are often "based on nothing and have no connection, no psychological analysis" to rely on.

"Often, the workers do not have [adequate] training, such as in child psychology. They do not have what it takes to decide the child's future," she said.

Furthermore, the latter suggests that it is not only parents who are questioning the structure of the system.

"I have received emails from workers who are uncomfortable with what they do. I have received emails from foster families who do not understand why the child is not returning home," lamented Me Assouline.

"When I hear the Commission not wanting to blame anyone, well, it will have to be done and these people will be held accountable," she said.
